Alex Malm, Green Buildings Project Manager with FM: Energy Engineering, began her role with UC Davis in March of 2018. However, she has spent a decade on campus as a student and now a staff member. Alex earned her BS in Civil Engineering and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) at UC Davis. As an undergraduate, she worked in Facilities as a student assistant in Engineering Services. She spent time working for the federal government and with Intel between both degrees. However, her passion for sustainability and energy efficiency brought her back to UC Davis.   

As the Green Buildings Project Manager, Alex focuses on certifying existing campus buildings under Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM). She manages a student team that collects building information, performs building audits, and completes LEED calculations to meet the certification requirements. She also works with staff in BMS, the Office of Sustainability, Design & Construction Management, and others to ensure policies and practices meet LEED criteria.
