Customer Spotlight: Terri Hackman

Terri Hackman

This quarter we’re highlighting Terri Hackman, Facilities Coordinator at the School of Education, as one of our outstanding customers! Terri is new to UC Davis and just started in her role about 6 months ago. We sat down with Terri to learn more about her and her role at the School of Education! 

Prior to starting at UC Davis, Terri worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant at Comcast for 20 years. She describes her duties there as “a little bit of everything”, with many transferable skills that made her perfect for this position! When she saw this opening, she jumped at the chance to apply. 

In her role, Terri manages renovations, repairs, and facilities issues at all of the School of Education’s buildings. She also helps manage Aggie Access and works closely with the IT team to assist with purchasing. Terri says her favorite part of her role is the people she works with! She says everyone she’s met here has been so friendly and kind. The biggest adjustment she’s had to deal with transitioning from the corporate world to education, says Terri, is having to coordinate with so many different groups to complete projects. However, she says she loves working with such a diverse group of people! 

Terri’s favorite project so far has been renovating the School of Education faculty office. She loved managing this project from beginning to end and building relationships with all of the vendors and technicians who made it possible. Terri enjoyed working with people of so many different skilled trades within facilities, from lighting to carpeting to everything in between! 

When she’s not hard at work at the School of Education, Terri spends her time doing sports photography! She discovered the hobby when her son played basketball in high school, and now shoots photos at local football and basketball games.
