Favorite part about working at ECO?
I get to work with a lot of people who are really smart and passionate about what they do. I think that is something that is really underrated and that people don’t think about a lot.
Sam attended the Oregon Institute of Technology, for both undergraduate and graduate school, in their Renewable Energy Engineering Program. This program is the first of its kind in the country that is geared towards the Engineering aspects of Renewable Energy sources. He focused on a mix of mechanical, and electrical engineering, all relating to energy efficiency.
Since graduating from the Oregon Institute of Technology in 2015, Sam has been working on energy efficiency projects as an Engineer at ECO. He looks at building and HVAC operations to determine whether inefficiencies are due to old equipment, poor programming or the system not meeting the needs of the customer. He works with the controls group to reprogram, modify, or upgrade the buildings to save energy. His projects often vary in lengths depending on the scope of the project.
Favorite part about Davis?
It is extremely unique that 95% of the people I interact with are on board to make a difference. Everyone on this campus has the attitude of 'tell me what I need to do to make this campus more efficient and I will do it.'
Sam and his wife just had their first baby!
