Making our buildings work better for you.

Pursuing an Efficient Campus

UC Davis has the largest campus in the University of California system. It has over 1,000 buildings, which accounts for over 60% of the campus’ total energy use. Our mission is to find ways to save energy at the building level so that we can meet carbon neutrality goals and practice sustainable stewardship on this beautiful campus.

The Energy Conservation Office (ECO) is composed of several teams:  Energy & ControlsEnergy FeedbackGreen Buildings, and Utilities Data & Engineering. Together with Facilities Management, we strive to create an energy efficient campus through equipment upgrades, education programs, and sustainable practices.

The featured energy projects below such as TherMOOstat, CEED, SWARM, and Holiday Shutdowns are highlights of ECO’s efforts in campus-wide efficiency and sustainability.
